Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) is the global authority on Specialty Coffee.

With 34 national chapters consisting of over 10,000 members around the world, SCA is the largest collection and collaboration of Specialty Coffee individuals and companies in the world. SCA runs the two largest Specialty Coffee coffee exhibitions in the world - SCA Global Specialty Coffee Expo in the US and the World of Coffee in Europe.

SCA produces Specialty Coffee standards which are established by knowledgeable subject-matter experts. SCA standards are followed by the Global Specialty Coffee community from coffee producers to baristas.

SCA is involved in the most recent and cutting edge coffee research as they partner with the University of California, Davis in the development of new Fundamental Principles of Brewing and with the World Coffee Research in improving the quality of coffee and the livelihood of coffee producers. World Coffee Research currently works in 29 producing countries.

SCA with their partnership with World Coffee Research has produced the Sensory Lexicon as well as the Coffee Flavor Wheel which are widely used in the Specialty Coffee industry.

SCA operates the World Coffee Events which consists of the prestigious 7 World Coffee Champions - World Barista Championship, World Cup Tasters Championship, World Latte Art Championship, World Coffee in Good Spirits, World Brewers Cup, World Coffee Roasting Championship, and Cezve/Ibrik Championship. These world championships represent the innovations and pinnacle in the fast evolving Specialty Coffee industry.
